Binding of Pin Insulator from Top Groove
Trade: Electrician | Semester: II
Question: Bind a pin insulator from the top groove.
Introduction
A pin insulator is used in overhead lines to support and insulate conductors. Binding from the top groove ensures proper fixing of the conductor and prevents it from slipping.
Tools and Materials Required
- Pin insulator
- Binding wire (GI wire)
- Line conductor
- Plier
Procedure
- Fix the pin insulator properly on the pole.
- Place the conductor in the top groove of the insulator.
- Take binding wire and wrap it around the conductor and insulator groove.
- Make tight turns to secure the conductor.
- Ensure proper binding without damaging the conductor.
- Cut extra wire and tighten ends.
Precautions
- Ensure tight binding
- Avoid damage to conductor
- Use proper size binding wire
Result
The conductor was successfully bound to the pin insulator from the top groove.
