Binding of Shackle Insulator from Neck for Intermediate Pole
Trade: Electrician | Semester: II
Question: Bind a shackle insulator from its neck for intermediate pole conductor.
Introduction
A shackle insulator is used in low voltage distribution lines at intermediate poles to support and insulate conductors. Binding from the neck ensures proper fixing and prevents conductor displacement.
Tools and Materials Required
- Shackle insulator
- GI binding wire
- Line conductor
- Plier
Procedure
- Fix the shackle insulator securely on the pole bracket.
- Place the conductor in the groove around the neck of the insulator.
- Take binding wire and wrap it around the conductor and insulator neck.
- Make tight and even turns to secure the conductor firmly.
- Ensure proper alignment of conductor.
- Cut extra binding wire and tighten the ends.
Precautions
- Ensure firm and tight binding
- Avoid damage to conductor
- Use correct size binding wire
- Check alignment of conductor
Result
The conductor was successfully bound to the shackle insulator from its neck at the intermediate pole.
